I am an experienced, enthusiastic educator, and an active community member with years of teaching, counselling and administrative experience at elementary, secondary and international levels.

  • Appointed September 2019

  • Leading our school through early stages of pandemic while making significant strides in student academic performance

  • Collaborating closely with District staff to implement strategic plan, improve literacy results and remain focused on students and staff health

  • School plans focused around improving literacy and engagement

District Principal of International Programs SD47 and Principal of Beijing No. 8 Offshore School in Beijing, China

  • Collaborative team with Leaders from the City (Mayor), School District Superintendent and the Tla’ Amin Nation (Hegus) to encourage and support economic development in the City of Powell River.

  • Led a student population of 500 international students and over 60 international staff members in Beijing to acquire their BC Dogwood diploma

  • Opened an SD# 47 satellite school at our campus in Gastown, Vancouver

  • Maintained 98% graduation rate and exponential growth of international student numbers in Powell River

  • Maintained 98% graduation rate for international students, all of whom attend post-secondary institutions throughout the world

Vice Principal Brooks Secondary School

  • Engaged in creating District wide strong transition program for students moving from Middle school and Secondary School.

  • Leadership in transitioning students and staff as they moved from Middle School to High

  • School Model Strong foundation of behavioural and intervention support for all students

  • Engaged in extracurricular activities and involvement including basketball, cross country, theatre and fine arts performances.
